Onyx International. They have a Chinese / English website, with a small, mostly Chinese forum.
There is no hardware difference between the devices. The only difference is in the branding of the firmware. Sometimes one of the two brandings of firmware may be released earlier than the other and more bugs will be solved in it. You can find the latest versions of firmware in the Firmware subforum. Check the Announcements at the top! You can switch between firmwares with different branding without problems. Many forum members have done this, including me. Since I could not care much what logo is displayed during boot I usually run the latest firmware, whomever released it first.
Yes. The device will show up correctly in Windows and Linux operating systems. The Onyx Boox internal storage shows up as "Boox" USB medium, the SD card is also auto mounted as a separate device.
The Boox 60 does not support DRM'ed mobipocket. Instead, Onyx has a license for the usage of Adobe's DRM solution.
Yes. The firmware is universal for all retailers, countries and rebranded names (Wolder Boox or Bebook Neo).
Read all about enabling the dictionary function.
Follow the Firmware update guide.
Looks like you might need to to a hard reset.
This was fixed in firmware update 1.2.2
Both. Technically the display is able to show 16 shades of gray. At this moment (up to firmware 1.4) the software only supports showing 8 shades of gray which is good enough for reading. In the future support for showing 16 shades of gray will be added to a firmware upgrade, improving the displaying of graphic files at a cost to the battery usage. Probably this will be an user-customisable option. (eg. a button in the settings to switch between 8 and 16 shades)
Put your TTF font in the fonts folder
You can not. Also see this post.
You sure can. Press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. A screenshot will be made and placed in the 'snapshots' directory on your memorystick.
This is normal behavior for a mac when using portable disks and not the fault of the reader.
This is probably happening because you are using the eject right? On a mac, the eject function is for ejecting only, for example removable media, i.e. CD/DVD etc. To remove the device, do it through the disc utility. Make sure you dismount the device and not eject it. The buttons are right next to eachother.
