RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
I was not intending to install the Onyx 1.6 update but the readme for the OpenBoox 1.6 implies that I need to have some files from an Onyx 1.6.

Or have I misunderstood?

I may be going senile but where do I get these files from? The latest version I can find anywhere is 1.5. I saw mention of a polish version but onyx-ereader.pl only has 1.5 as well.

The fonts, handwriting, tts, etc. files mentioned in the README.txt are optional. If you update from a 1.5.1 version you only need the update.upd file.

It's my plan to spend some time on improving the file viewer (internal flash, sd card). As part of this a sort by name, type, size and date will be added.

I have one problem and one request.

The problem: if I'm using a hypertext ePub, and I select with pen a link in left or right place of the page, Onyx highlight the word like I'm gonna activate the hyperlink, but when I release the pen Onyx turn the page, and do not "jump" to the hyperlink target place.

The request: the PdfReader for ePub have a weak subpixeling; the font are too much "lite" and reading serif character is not a pleasure. Is there a way to add a strong subpixeling in font antialiasing with PdfReader?
Actually the other ePub reader, coolreader and fbreader, have a too poor css support for my needs.

Thank you for the answer.

f.

Unfortunately the source code of PdfReader is not available, this means that we depend on Onyx for improvements.

OK got it now, I was still running one of the 1.4's so I grabed the folders from a 1.5 and installed. Everything seemed to go ok, the /books folder was empty and the setup did not have any icons for scanning the sd or internal memory until I had opened a book on the SD card then I could scan them.

I see from above and the wiki that I need to extract the opf from every book to be able to do search by series which is proving to be a pain as I have 10k+ books.

The value of something has nothing to do with it's price.

I see. But the hypertext problem is not present using 1.5 firmware. It happened when I switch to 1.6

Thumbs Up RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
Hi all.
My reader is a Bebook Neo.
I read about this new firmware on an Italian forum and I want to try it.
My old firmware was the last one of Endless Idea (I didn't remember the version).I went directly to this 1.6 without going through the 1.5 version.

I'm very happy. The stylus works better (even if I don't like so much the "pre touch" thing :-\), I did the upgrade without problem, wi fi works better, I like some new feature (eg. the cover at the stand by, the german chars (finally!), ...), I don't need music or games, just book and taking notes (maybe an working (Italian) tts, for my dyslexic sister).

I'm quite happy, but... I didn't find a tread for the requested features/improvement Wink so these are my requested features:

- I agree for opening the last opened book at the start up too.

- I don't understand how to modify time or data.

- I don't understand how to read/modify text notes I took: each time I open the Text editor I got a new empty file. What if I want modify an existent text?

- I like the choice of the reader for the various formats. I would like, it will be possible to associate the reader to the book because some book are better displayed using a reader, other using a different one. Dictionary don't work using coolreader, but ipertext links work. Switching reader some things are lost, eg: the last read page or bookmarks.

- I need Italian and/or French support. I'm Italian therefore I need accented chars like: à è ì ò ù.
The text works fine (thanks to the utf8, I suppose), but not metadata: eg. if I have "Perché" (it means "why" in Italian) I read "PerchÄ@".
And... because I don't have accented letters I can't use the Italian dictionary and search all the words I need.
I you need help with the Italian language, I'm happy to give my contribute.

Thank you for reading till here Wink

RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
Thanks for your work, this is a nice firmware, although I agree with Alanna's requested features. I'm Spanish, and have the same problems with accented letters, and I'm also unable to change date and time of my Onyx Boox reader.

It would be great to receive some support about that.

Thanks for your time.

i *think* it should. x60 and x60s differ mostly wrt wifi support, afaik. hardware is otherwise the same.

btw, does x60s have separate official firmware from x60 ?

RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
In a next release of your custom firmware it's possible to have an upgraded translation (for my language, italian) of the interface.

I had made a complete translation, for the last version, few months ago. You can download it from here http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpos...stcount=18

If you can merging it in openBoox can make me very happy
