it looked as it flashed correctly, but i was back on firmware i started out with. i removed all .upd files off sd card, ran dewolder, your reset settings, removed it, put openboox .upd and it flashed fine. i'll just write it off as my fault.
If your SD card contains a onyx_update.upd and update.upd file than the former will be used for the update. Very well possible that you reflashed the version you already had.

I don't know how long the flashing of the kernels takes, but 3 seconds sounds very fast to me.

I will start by describing the current functionality in the Wiki. There is clearly a documentation backlog.

I'm not familiar with the encoding topic. Can I download a cp1250 encoded document somewhere?

I will think about this. Till now I focused on the database representation, maybe it's time to spend some time on the file representation.

1. Searching scribble files by filename
2. PROPER export of scribbles to SD card (in the stock 1.5.1 firmware on my X60, only the last page of a multi-page scribble is exported - clearly a bug).

1. A file search function is not planned for the short term. With OpenBOOX you have the advantage that you can give your scribbles a descriptive name, as I explained earlier in this post on MobileRead. A descriptive name will make it easier to find it back.
2. Since Onyx doesn't provide the source code of the scribble application we have to wait till they fix it. The alternative is to switch to the scribble application that is developed by peterx, but someone has to be build it for the A60/X60 first.

I have the main screen in English ... and the rest in Italian.

To set everything to English you have to create a file with the following content:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
echo "export LANG=en_US.UTF-8" > /root/Settings/language
Save it as 'english.oar', place it on your SD card and run it.
To activate the new setting you have to restart the device.

now that i think of it, maybe there should be support for some sort of autorun script?

then again, it could have dangerous consequences.

edit: i've done some more tests with coolreader, and it seems it has no way to change encoding. so i would have to recode cp1250 doc/rtf files to utf8 probably to make them useful.

that's a shame, as coolreader seems to be a bit faster and useful wrt screen-estate.

RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
Hallo, here I am again, a question: is it possibile reintroduce the function of ordering the file in the single directories? it's true that it's very useful and pratical the function connected to "book" and ordering the book according to some criteria. but it's very important using the function of ordering the file for date, alphabetical order, ecc. thank you and again congratulations!

RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
Hi,

I have one problem and one request.

The problem: if I'm using a hypertext ePub, and I select with pen a link in left or right place of the page, Onyx highlight the word like I'm gonna activate the hyperlink, but when I release the pen Onyx turn the page, and do not "jump" to the hyperlink target place.

The request: the PdfReader for ePub have a weak subpixeling; the font are too much "lite" and reading serif character is not a pleasure. Is there a way to add a strong subpixeling in font antialiasing with PdfReader?
Actually the other ePub reader, coolreader and fbreader, have a too poor css support for my needs.

Thank you for the answer.

f.

RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
Finally got around to installing this, but reading the notes I see I need a load of files from an official 1.6 update.

I may be going senile but where do I get these files from? The latest version I can find anywhere is 1.5. I saw mention of a polish version but onyx-ereader.pl only has 1.5 as well.

The value of something has nothing to do with it's price.

On the official "onyx-polish" forum has been released a non-definitive firmware (version 1.6) six month ago.

This firmware is contains a software lock who prevents future upgrade from non-polish firmwares. You don't must install it!

You can see my experience in this thread http://booxusers.com/thread-301.html
