Status: Released
Included in: Version 0.2.0 November last year xvan suggested to use the MPD music server within the OpenBOOX firmware. The first results looked pretty good so I continued with the development of an own integrated client. Now I reached the point at which the implementation is in a usable state, so I uploaded a video on YouTube to demonstrate it: At this moment mp3 and flac files are supported but I want to add ogg and wav support as well. Further you can browse your music by Title, Artist, Album, Genre etc. ![]() If you have suggestions to improve things, please let me know. OpenBOOX: The open source Boox 60 firmware Wiki - YouTube |

RE: Music playback
A small update:
I improved the integration of the music player. Previously it showed up after pressing the power button but this was conflicting with the standby functionality. Now the player can be opened via the menu, like it is done for the Onyx player. This works not only from the explorer but also from the different reader applications. The issue with the power-save mode, which stopped playback, is solved (thanks Jim), so music playback is portable again ![]() Here is a screenshot of the current status: OpenBOOX: The open source Boox 60 firmware Wiki - YouTube |
