RE: [Downloads A60] 1.5.1-0.1.1
Hallo,

Last July I built the Onyx CoolReader port but at that time it was not ready for actual use. If I understood it correctly it is now available in the M92 firmware, so it may be a good moment to give it another try. If it will work heavily depends on the amount of changes that where made in the underlaying software libraries and if these changes are compatible with the OpenBOOX firmware. When I have news about this I will let you know.<br />

Summary in English:
Q: What is the added value of the OpenBOOX firmware?
A: The biggest difference is the posibility to browse your books by author, publisher, year etc.
The first post is updated with links to additional information.

1. After starting the Onyx Explorer you are stuck to the original interface till you turn the device off and on again. It is available in case you desperately need something which is not yet available in OpenBOOX. If this happens I would like to hear what is missing so I can start new developments based on user needs. It is very well possible that the Onyx Explorer will not be available in the next version because the available space for the firmware is quite limited.
2. I'm not aware of a difference related to the dictionary function. Are you refering to the dictionary application or to a pre-installed StarDict dictionary? Please give some more details.

RE: 1.5.1-0.1.1
My problem is, that I have little knowledge of Linux ca. I installed Open Boox with success, but now I don't have any dictionary. I downloaded the free Star Eng-Eng dict stardict-comn_dictd04_wn-2.4.2.tar, unpacked the archive and installed the file in the directory /dicts.
I still can't open the dictionary. What do I wrong?
Thanks,
Jan Schijf

You have to place each dictionary in a subdirectory within 'dicts'. My 'dicts' directory looks like this:

When reading a book you open the dictionary tool from the tools menu and select the dictionary from the list:

Now you open the explanation tab and select the word that has to be explained or translated:

Note 1: I'm working on an update of the Onyx libraries and applications so maybe the dictionary tool looks different in your case
Note 2: You have to login to the forum in order to see the images
