Did you solve the problem?
And if so, what did the trick?

RE: 1.5.1-0.1.1
I'm using this firmware and I like the new features but I miss one that is in the official, the capability to open comics (cbr and cbz files), it would be great if you can add this function.

Thanks and keep up the good work Smile

and sorry for my bad english Blush

Thanks for your report.
The comic extensions are not in the database which contains the associations between extensions and applications, they will be included in the next firmware release.

Since the only missing part is in the database I created a small script that adds cbr and cbz support by replacing your database. The disadvantage is that it takes you back to the default setup, you also have to rescan your books in order to browse them by title, author, etc.

To get comics support you have to extract the attached archive on your sd-card and run the comic-support-0.1.1.oar script (it restarts the explorer).

Hello Koudijs,

I have been using your sdk and openboox exclusively for developing applications for the boox and I must say we, users of the onyx boox, are really lucky that you have bought an onyx boox and have taken the time to do this great work.
Yesterday I needed to compile again openboox to generate the static libraries and I was again impressed that the whole compilation went so smooth. Qt, kernel, applications and more things that I even know compiled without errors. Compared to the original sdk of onyx is so easy and straight forward....
Thank you that you have taken the time to do this work, without it this device would not be half as much worth.

Hi Julodnik,

Thank you very much for taking the time to give this very nice feedback.

The sdk is just a small part of the project. The last year I spent on developing the new user interface with the goal to make it more flexible and provide more freedom to the user. If you want to do something in return I suggest that you also give the OpenBOOX firmware a try Smile
Maybe we can work together to get a nice integration of your applications in this firmware.

What is the process you follow to update the Onyx libraries? Can you give a bit more details about it?

RE: 1.5.1-0.1.1
I have a problem with metadata in openboox. Some books don't show the metadata, I think its because i already had these books before without metadata and now it remains in the database or something Confused

Is there any way to clear the database? any suggestion? Huh

Thanks for your hard work with this project Smile

You are right. The book scanner only adds new books, it doesn't update the metadata of books that are already in the database. I will see if I can implement an update function.

The next version will have the possibility to remove a single book or to remove all books from the database. Till that time there is a workaround: If you run the attached script it will delete the database file and restart the user interface. This means that you end up with the setup you had after the first installation (default categories, no books in database).

The scan function will be updated in the upcoming release.
Besides adding new books it will then also update the metadata of the already available books.
