Hi All,
we seem to be alive again. There are obviously still numerous issues with the forum at this moment. If you have a suggestion as to what I could change on this brand new installation, please let me know in the replies. Sincerely, Kib |

RE: [Forum] Welcome back !
Hi Kib,
Thanks for bringing us the new booxusers forum! At the day that the OpenBOOX project celebrates its first anniversary you come up with a dedicated sub-forum, nice present ![]() My suggestion is to add the M92 to the subtitle of the 'Boox M Series' sub-forum, I think this one is more popular than the M90. One question: Now that we know what can happen, can you tell us something about your backup plans? OpenBOOX: The open source Boox 60 firmware Wiki - YouTube |

RE: [Forum] Welcome back !
I know I made a backup in August 2011 when I did a big update on the forum software. At that point I deleted all earlier backups because they were useless at that point.
Sadly I can't locate the August 2011 backup; I am a bit worried that I might have accidentily removed or overwritten it shortly after. Ideally it should be on my 5-bay NAS, but it isn't. I am hoping to locate it on one of the USB disks, laptops and pc's scattered throughout my house. Wiki: I might be able to restore the wiki from before the crash. There were no backups of the wiki - I haven't checked it out to be honest. I will setup rsync between this box and my 5-bay NAS at home soon. This also means you can ask me about it again in the future =) Please do remind me. |

RE: [Forum] Welcome back !
Congratulations!
Good work on getting BooxUsers.com back online, Kib. I would suggest replacing the myBB style name "Black Times" with "BooxUsers Forum". After all, the "black times" are over now, right?! ![]() If you want help getting a wiki started again, I have experience in writing & organizing wiki pages. <br /> For the record --if it matters at all to your recovery efforts-- my registration from October 2010 did not survive --I had to re-register today. |

RE: [Forum] Welcome back !
The backup I could find was from may 2010, so that is correct.
I am still looking for the July/August 2011 backup. I did a lot of work on the forum during that period (massive update) and I know that I deleted all previous backups after I had made a new one (files and database) because the old database backups were obsolete after the successful upgrade. I can't locate the backup I made, which is just really weird. (I have a 5 disk NAS at home that holds all important documents) I am slowly starting to realize I must have forgotten to copy it from the server to my NAS. |
