Both the script .oar

Can you give example of those tags? Do you mean the tags from calibre (e.g. genre tags) ?
Yes this tag (cookingbook, thriller, mine....etc) all the word for identify the book. So when you search cooking, you find only this tagged book.

Right now i am thinking on how to parse mobi metadata. Epubs and pdfs usually have embedded metadata, and if you copy books from calibre into separate directories, they will come with separate metadata.opf file. But it might as well be a file from a different book, or you could just drop multiple books into one directory by hand. Some intelligent solution to this would be nice.
With openboox there is a file opf for any book, with the original firmware there is only the epub file.

What if you have multiple books in one directory? Are there e.g.
book.pdf + book.opf file pairs ?

as for tags, i'll have to see how they are stored and where exactly.

You have:
Main directory = Book
Directory = author name (one directory for each author)
File inside author directroy = title1.jpg, title1.epub, title1.opf : title2.jpg, title2.epub, title2.opf .........(all the book)

if that is the case, it should be a simple hack to add that layout. explorer already parses opf files, only it tries to extract them out of epubs (which are zip archives).

Alternatively, i could try reading data off sqlite file in the root of the card (when files are copied to the card by calibre).

L'uomo scomparso: La quinta indagine di Lincoln Rhyme #5

calibre (1.5.0) [http://calibre-ebook.com]

RE: New: 1.6-0.2.0
The amount of possible tags could be a bit of a problem in terms of organization (how many tags can there be per book?).

I am still thinking on how to tackle this efficiently, so that on-device database does not explode out of proportion.

Ciao,

there is not limit on the tag!! Confused

Onother request info. Is it possible to see the directory wieving the cover instead a list name? (like cover grid in calibre)

Remember you have a lot of choice in calibre preference to saving book on disk.
Maybe it is better to save in another metod than {author_sort}/{title}.

the way you save files doesn't really matter, at least with .epub ones, when metadata is concerned. i use author/series + series_index personally. this helps when i look for specific series throu file manager and not metadata categories.

i'll have to check out the grid thing. it would be neat to have, since list view wastes a bit of screen space at least in menus (when not listing books). i hope qt has enough abstraction to avoid duplicating code for each view.

edit: it seems there is support for grid already , only items are displayed as list due to their size. but i could be wrong - this is just an initial cursory glance at that part of the code.

I hope you find a solution and post a new firmware.
